installing PSU upside down?

Is it a normal case or an exotic design? Model?

Does the PSU have an intake fan that's supposed to point downwards inside the case?

Installing that kind of PSU upside-down in a standard could mess up the airflow in the case and through the PSU, making both run hotter.

I doubt that it would be a problem, if it didn't turn the fans in such a fashion that air circulation was effected, and it mounted properly. However on mine, not only would the bottom fan be turned against the case, but the power selector switch wouldn't align with it hole. But I'm curious, why would you want to mount it upside down?

I have mounted my Corsair 620 upside down (fan is facing up) on the bottom of my Lian Li G70b case. I don't forsee there being a problem, although I'm a bit more careful to make sure screws and the like don't fall into the grill while I'm working on the computer.

because the modular connectors are at the bottom of the PSU. if i install the psu in the p180 (psu location for p180 is at the bottom), all the cables will be blocking the air flow. installing it upside down, the connectors would be on top and going up, so better air flow.

my main concern is would having the psu upside down affect the performance and the life of the psu?

thx!
