Installing OSX through VMware or Virtualbox

Check

Senior member
I'm running a couple of windows machines and would like to install OSX on one of them so I could do some programming for my new iPhone.

Has anyone successfully installed OSX in Virtualbox or VMware?
Will there be some tweaking involved to get everything working or should it be easy?

both machines are Core 2 based, one with an nvidia video card and the other with an ati.

well to answer my own question it's a pain in the ass on the laptop... perhaps the desktop is a better choice.

Of course it is, neither VirtualBox or VMware are Apple hardware. And why would it be any different on your desktop, VMware and VirtualBox will still emulate the same hardware.

because the desktop has different hardware than the laptop?

I still haven't given up on the laptop yet. I got the the OSX splash screen on my laptop last night with the spinning pinwheel, but the window to actually install the OS never popped up...

I remember someone in the Hackintosh community got OSX to run off Virtual Box. There was even a screen shot of it somewhere... But I seem to recall that it wasn't that difficult to implement.

Which is 100%, completely irrelevant. VMware and VirtualBox emulate a certain set of hardware, that never changes regardless of what's in the host computer.
