Easy question for the pro's here.

Just bought a computer (2nd hand) with a formatted HDD that I need to install the following on (I have all the CD's for these):
OS (Windows 2000pro)
MoBo Drivers (Tyan)
CDRW Drivers (Nero)

How do I go about these installs on a HDD with no current OS installed? Will it boot to a dos screen or something? Do I just put the OS disk into the CDRW drive and fire it up...?

Help.

Thanks in advance.

the Microsoft web site has a nice little article on doing a "clean install", search for artical id q221829.

You basically can install a startup disk or boot disk floppy, which will give you access the a cd-r. You can then install from the cd disk or copy the .cab files to folder on the HD and install it from there.

You will need to do a few DOS commands. You can do a search for 'clean install' or new install here at AT forums and I am sure you get more detailed instructions.

first thing you need to do is set in bios the first boot device you cd, next you need to reboot with the windows cd in the drive, it will boot up asking what you want to do, say boot from cd, then start computer with cd-rom support. next change to the cd-rom drive letter (usually d:\ if you just have one cd-rom) and type setup.exe and hit enter. after doing this it will bring up the setup wizzard and you can just follow the onscreen instructions for getting it loaded. once windows is loaded just place your mobo drivers cd into the cd-rom and run the install program from there and follow the instructions, do the same thing with your burning software. Hope this helps ya ;)
