Installing new mobo

I just purchased a new mobo gryphon z87 (haswell) and currently using p8z68-v (sandy bridge). Ive read that The HDD windows must be reinstall. I have 2 HDD which is one is recently got win 7 installed. Can I just use the old HDD on the new mobo to make a slowly backup with pendrive since i dont have external HDD and transfer some of my file to new HDD. Sorry for my bad english. Does it affect anything on the new mobo?

I recently installed a new mobo gryphon z87 with a new HDD and installed a fresh win7. My previous mobo was p8z68-v with old HDD. I want to transfer my old file from old HDD to the new one. So I have to insert back my old HDD with previous win7 and drivers for my old mobo. Will the drivers from my old mobo in the old HDD conflict with the new mobo? Because the chipset driver was totally difference.

just plug the other harddrive in and use it as a secondary and transfer the files that way?

drivers and os install only effect the drive you boot from.

or are you trying to transfer installed programes?

Make sure that if the hard was setup IDE SATA that the BIOS setting is still IDE SATA. Everytime I flash my BIOS I have to change that setting from AHCI. If the is setup IDE it will have major issue under AHCI, if it is setup AHCI it will have issues under IDE.

I have yet to figure out how to convert from one to the other except buying new drives and coping the data over the USB through a drive enclosure to the new drives.

The biggest difference I have found is AHCI allows for hot swapping and IDE does not.

I went from a P55 to a Z87 chipset without problems....

What you could try is remove the new HD boot with the old one and see if it works you should have no problems. If it works for you image the old drive onto the new one make sure it works then wipe the old one for a spare drive.

I've moved my Win 7 install across several platforms without problems, incl. moving from a socket 1155 to socket 2011 and then to socket 1150. Biggest thing was to ensure the motherboard was set to whatever protocol was used on it on the previous motherboard....IDE, AHCI/RAID. AHCI does have a few advantages over IDE, incl. faster performance, NCQ, hot swapping, and backwards compatibility for IDE only drives.

Really, you should be able to plug the hd in on the new mb and run straight away. You'll have to install new chipset drivers, but Win 7 will get it running with its generic drivers until you install the correct chipset drivers.
