Over the weekend, I went over to a buddy's house and while I was repairing his computer, he mentioned that he wanted to spy on his sister's internet usage (he's out of college and his sister is still in high school).
His entire family is computer illerate so no one would know if it was installed or not. I installed the software for him but I told him if he gets caught, I take no responsibility and will not acknowledge having installed the software in the first place. The way the software installs is very discrete and requires a combination of keys (i.e. Ctrl-Alt-P) to activate.
Now my question is, has anyone ever done this before? The software is geared towards parents and I realize parents are entitled to be concerned but does anyone else think this is going too far? I felt guilty installing the software but I'm not the one to preach moral values to my friends (especially at this age). Since it doesn't involve my family, I couldn't care less.
Is it necessary evil or an invasion of privacy? Let me know what you all think.
