Installing Intel 815 INF Drivers on Windows 2000

I need some help installing the Intel 815 INF drivers.

When I try installing the INF drivers, the percentage indicator bar goes to 15% then kicks out all the time. It doesn't install the drivers at all. I've tried going into safe mode with command line but the same thing happens. This is off a clean install of Win2000.

I've even clocked back down to 700MHz but it did the same thing. I have all the drivers installed for my peripherals and updated to Service Pack 1. I've also tried installing the Intel Security Driver and Ultra ATA Storage Driver.

Right now, I'm running a Dual-boot configuration with Windows ME.

Any suggestions?

My setup is as follows:

128MB Infineon SDRAM
Asus CUSL2 Mainboard
3D Blaster Annilhilator 2
Sound Blaster Live! Value
Linksys EtherFast 10/100

Have you tried installing the INF drivers BEFORE you installed any other equipment? Also, some equipment attached to your PC might cause it to terminate before it installs. I would try to install the chipset INF driver right after I finished installing Windows 2000. If that doesn't work, then I would remove everything attached to the PC except the graphics card internally and keyboard and mouse externally and try it again. I configured my PC (Intel PIII/800 and Asus CUSL2 based) over the weekend and everything worked like a charm. When it finished loading the OS I installed the INF for the chipset, followed by the rest of the addon-hardware drivers, then the OS updates (SP1 and othe patches), and last by the applications.

For the later sets of Chipset inf drivers after version 2.60, you need to install them in safe mode for Win2K.

Maybe some hardware incompatibilty problem......I just installed Intel 815 INF drivers on my friends system(Win2K) yesterday
