Installing dungeon seige II, get's to 71%, then system has machine_stop_error, memory dump, error 102 in event viewer.

sounds like what happened to me when 1of my sticks of ram started to go bad, ran memtest86+ and found out I had 1 bad stick, took it out and everything ran fine.

The thing is, the memory can fill all the way up, like when I play BF2 and have several things running, and I don't get any errors.

have you run memtest yet?

Yeah, for a short while, it didn't error.

I really don't believe this is a hardware problem. Why does a specific software event cause it if it's hardware? Also, why haven't I had any other memory errors if it's hardware?

If that's an InstallShield error you might check their website (www.InstallShield.com or www.macrovision.com)
...

Game-specific: install with reader not burner, don't have Alcohol or Daemon installed.
Game copy protection can error if you install from a burner or have virtual CD soft.

Otherwise, look up the error at IS

I only have a burner, and I don't have any virtual CD software.

Also, what is IS? Link?

All the crash dump analyses (in the past couple days) say hardware error originating from kernel (memory heirarchy error reported via CPU interrupt 18). Best thing to do right now is to return to stock speeds and see if the problem persists. If it still happens, maybe there's a problem with your DVD drive or DVD disc. Or, your memory has gone bad just in the past couple days (run memtest86 for at least one hour to find problems). You can also try updating your BIOS to the latest official (no beta).

Funny thing is, I tried going back to stock, same issues. Also, I'm not having any other issues, it's been nice and stable. I'll do a nice long run of memtest and check, but it seems ok ATM. I have the latest BIOS already. I'm starting to wonder if it isn't an issue with the disk or DVD drive.

Do you have another PC to test (install) the disc on? If not and you happen to have Nero, run the disc through its disc-testing utility.

Don't have Nero, I'm gonna try it on a new PC. Thanks for all the help, I'll get back to you tomorrow.
