Single-player is better because you can cheat and give yourself 255 skill points right at the start.
And now because some skills help others, my sorceress can do around 10,000 damage per second with Firewall. 🙂

yea, I remember on ladder those hammerdins doing 8-10k dmg hammers (had one at 7k)... and those were magic damage and nothing in the game were immune (not even monsters who were supposedly immune) to it except one or two monsters in areas where no one even ventured.

Now Hammerdins getting to 14k damages. My does 10K and he doesn't even use a HOTO or any skill GC. Now where are those one or two monsters that are immune to hammers because I haven't found one

1 week and you're bored
more like two hours. real men play classic, the only good LoD does is 800x600 since they blocked that resolution hack with 1.10.
i can bet my life i played more than any of you here, averaging about 18 hours or so a day in my prime. at one point i felt like my mouse became an extension of my body. normally i wouldnt toot my own horn, but i kid you not i subdued all zons i came in contact in useast 1.04-1.06, all but those using hacks/pots - not sticking to rules.
if anyone wants to find out more about which builds work and which dont in 1.10, feel free to pm me or post a question.
luckily i still have most of my gear on useast. havnt lost a sorc vs sorc in 1.10 (probably cuz most good duelers left the scene years ago).
barb vs barb isnt just all about luck either, i would say i have roughly 70%+ win rate over typical angelic+swordback+sword, i rarely get killed by hammers if at all.
also, you CAN beat good necs with barbs if you know what you are doing. no, i am not talking about those lamers who only spam bwall and trap themselves in there. i am talking about those elite people out there with superb control using bs/spear/decrep only. granted, you wont reach 50:50 but it can be done with mixing up different techniques.

no, it works fine for me. the thing is there were some people who actually got caught using maphack. mousepad came up with this anti detection scheme, but started charging people like $20 for it. some got pissed off at him and started coming out with cracked version of his mahpack. there is also this tool called anti-extra work, which has mixed reports; some argue its supposed to be like an extra protection for maphack detection while yet others say its worthless.

blizzard should quit being so stubborn about not admitting how pathetic pvm element of this game is, and acknowledge pvp as the driving force that keeps people coming back to play. no one seriuous about the game does pvm for fun, the whole thing is just for lvling and picking up rare drops. instead of being so ballistic about people using innocous tools like maphack, they could spend more time banning asshats using autoaim, invincible juv hack, scroll lock and whatnot. many of these got sorted out over time but strangely took long while at that. 1.10 still has an array of annoying bugs like ww invincibility (doesnt really matter in real duels, can be annoying at times tho), ww-lock lag, server-client desync when doing ww chilled. its amazing i keep noticing how this virtual world accurately reflects what happens in real life - they keep missing the bigger picture due to their obssesion with trivial pursuit (war on drugs, anyone?)

Here's how I got rich super fast in Season 2:
1. Build a good Sorc
2. Get some MF
3. Run Pindlebot
4. ...
5. PROFIT!!!

Now I'm eBaying my account with a net worth of 150 Ists
I used to be scared of using hacks, but I didn't care after a while. Battle.net can't compete with the people creating these hacks, and Diablo 2 is at the bottom of their priority list.

Have fun!

yea cuz it's in one of the temples in A3 ... 😀

Holy crap that game stole two years of my life!! I played D2 every single hour I was home for, seriously, two years straight. It is the most addicted to a game I have ever been in my entire life. I eventually forced myself to stop playing shortly after 1.10 came out, but not after leveling a few characters of each class up to 99, creating some kickass PvP characters (barb and pally), doing millions of cow runs and making some cash on ebay.

All of my friends have moved on to World of Warcraft but I am avoiding buying it. I know that if I get it, it's all I will ever do.

Also, I have not heard of Diablo III... I thought it was just a myth.

I played way back around 1.09, stopped like a year before 1.10. I had decent pvp sorc gear with a 1.08 harley and chromatic ire, 3300 hp with ~35% dmg reduction 🙂 damn that game was fun

Necromancer + Blood Golem + Iron Maiden = invincible.

That's way back in D2 classic. Bliz fixed that bug long ago. IM isn't as effective anymore with the physical immunities in Hell. Amp is the more useful skill for the zookeeper now. Have to say necros were my favorite characters. Zookeepers were my favorite, though I've tried bone, poison and everything else. With synergy, I have 25 revives, 25 skels, 25 skel mages = nice lag 🙂

Damn, I'm tempted to go back to this game now. It was my fulltime job for YEARS. Literally 10+ hrs a day. Only get up to eat and occasionally sleep.

depends on which version. only an idiot would have used a blood golem in pvp in any version (dead blood golem = 1 hp for the nec, ugh) so this is moot anyway. for most part, clay golem against zons, fire against all others. with 1.10 synergies, you simply cant spare any pts in non-bone skill. ideally you shouldnt even invest a point in any curse, as the only useful one is decrep and you could get it from a wand (ume's is perfect as long as you dont need res)

in post 1.07-1.08, they addressed the bug and it is no longer effective even in pvm. bs+spear+decrep is more than enough for pvm, and lvling nowadays is just repetitive cs runs with 7 other people anyway - hammerdins and barbs do most of the killing.

To max damage from Bone Spear and Bone Spirit you only need to max those two skills, Teeth, and Bone Wall, thanks to the Marrowwalk synergy bug. Enough points left for curses (only need 1 point in each of the curses you want) and summoning skills.

yes guild wars is free.

Diablo 3 better be a free multiplayer game. ive always hated it when we have to pay after buying agmes

Replay went down the drain when you couldn't be rushed to Hell at level 1 and then go straight to cows to level up. Bah Blizzard. CS:S for life!

It's still possible to get rushed to Hell as level 1. If there is a player in the game who can go to the Worldstone Chamber who needs the Baal quest too, anyone partied in act 5 will get the quest when Baal dies. Also level 1s in town.

And if you get the new character to level 5 (few minutes playing) then the Hell Chaos Sanctuary is a fine replacement for cows. You'll be above level 20 after 1 single run already I think 🙂

no such bug in classic. again, i dont think xpack has any value as a pvp game, and as such i wouldnt touch it ever again. you NEED to max spear+bs+teeth+wall+prison.
