"installing devices 34 minutes" arghhh

for some reason, my xp install is hung up at the installing devices portion. any reason why?

Fixed:
- used ps/2 keyboard and mouse
- disabled my SATA (only have IDE drives right now)

reboot and see what happens before you panic.
Might be worth taking out the extra sound card/pci cards, and disconnecting any usb devices/disabling onboard periphs. etc.... you get the picture.

In my case, I was trying to install a slip-streamed SP2 copy of XP on my 3-year old Gateway. Turns out the generic NVidia driver was not compatible with my video card. I had to dig out my SP1 copy of XP to complete the install, then install the native Gateway Video Drivers, then finally install SP2.
