Installing both a CD-RW and DVD-R

I have a CD-RW installed. Can I also install a DVD-RW? Any brand recommendations? Formats -rw +rw or get both?

me too. most dvd burners won't read cd's at the speed of a fast cd burner.

Me too me too!

There is no problem running both. I am running a Sony DRU510 DVD+/-RW burner and an LG 48X cd burner. I run both because the LG burns 90min overburns well while the Sony does not. Not to mention the burn speed is higher for cds.

Depending on how much you are willing to spend I would recommend the Sony dual mode burners, otherwise a DVD-RW should see you just fine. If you want more feedback on what to buy, I would recommend posting this in General Hardware.
