Got an old hp netserver PRO .. it's a pentium pro generation machine and all drives in it now are SCSI. We got a 120 gig for storage and whatnot and the machine couldn't deteect, so we got a controller card in hopes that it would work. OS is NT and the promise card has NT drivers.
So..

I'm thinking, crack open the machine, stick in the card, fire it up, install drivers, reboot and the drive should be recognized?
I have little experience with NT and none with controller cards period. Are there any configurations that need be done with the card before the drive can be recognized?

NT4 is not plug & play, you'll have to install the drivers yourself manualy.

The drivers should come with a readme file telling your how to install them in nt4.

Hopefully you have a means of backing up that 120Gb of data, too? Or maybe it's non-critical data?
