Installing AB9 Pro

Just a quickie about installing this board. When installing the rear I/O plate, are the metal pins which are already on the plate needed? They appear to be too wide to fit between the USB/LAN ports and I assume they won't go into the ports as I will then have a conducting back plate. If anyone can help I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance.

They go on the outside of the ports (bend them a little if needed; they're meant to be springy enough to stay in contact though). They ensure that the port's ground matches the case's ground (and therefore the power supply's ground). They're not critical, but they serve some purpose.

OK, thanks. I was just a bit confused as to why they were there, when they appear to be too wide to fit. I'll have a look at bending them a bit more then.
