Im trying to install a socket a fan on my socket a chip. But the clip is so hard to press down. My thumbs became all numb and bruised and i still cannot get the HSF on. Is there an easier way?. It seem impossible to push the clip over the little white nub.

What heatsink do you have? Also, you may want to SLIGHTLY "prebend the clip" so it is easier to put on. however, don't bend it too much, or it won't make contact witht he cpu.

i dont know what Heat sink it is. But the clip says Taisol. So im guessing its a Taisol HSF

My thumb has blisters on them due to this.

Use a very small socket on a short extension, just big enough to fit over the end of the clip to push it down. You'll use your free hand to push the clip over the attachment tab once it's low enough. My first time sucked too! 😉 After you do it once, it becomes fairly easy. Don't use a screwdriver to push the clip down because it can slip and gouge your mobo. Or stab you in the eye. Ouch!:Q
