I have been having problems with my ABIT KG7 (it is unbootable) and as a result, I decided to get ABIT to send me a new BIOS chip (just $14) .
How is it oriented to install it?
There is no indication of a #1 pin on the chip or the mboard and, of course, ABIT sent me no instructions. My only guess is to orient the new chip with the writing going the same way as the old chip. Any more concrete suggestions...I assume a bad installation of a BIOS chip can easily cause irreperable harm.
