Installing 10.10 netbook edition on an acer aspire one D150

I made the USB boot drive from the tutorial on the ubuntu website, but I cannot get my netbook to boot from the USB. I went into the bios and changed the boot order and I used the boot menu, but the USB just isn't recognized. I've searched on guides online and in the guides "USB - Kingston DataTraveler" or some variant is seen, but in my bios I just see USB CD, USB FDD and USB HDD. Does anyone know what's going wrong here?

Do you have a USB HDD plugged in at the same time? Have you tried selecting that option? It really depends on the BIOS and what it decides to show you.

i solved it. the problem was that my bios was too out of date i think. i flashed the bios to the latest version and everything worked!

cheers!
