Bought an HIS X800 Pro flashed XT and it just arrived today. I used Driver Cleaner to uninstall the old drivers and reinstalled em. Opened up ATITool and it detects artifacts immediately. The GPU temp is reading 35 idle, and loads at about 50. The weird thing is it's completely game stable, played Doom 3, UT2K4, and CS:S with no artifacts or anything of the sort. Also, after installing this card 3dmark 03 refuses to run. Everytime I open it I get one of those Windows errors saying it's encountered a problem and needs to close. Anyone run into a problem like this before?

Maybe try underclocking it? A 16 pipe XT at say 450 mhz is still better then a 12 pipe Pro. How much did you pay and where did you get it? You might just want to send it back to the seller.

I've flashed it back to the original bios, and it was still getting errors in ATITool well below stock speeds. I set it to find max mem and it kept finding errors until it got as low as 170mhz then crashed and rebooted. Maybe ATITool just doesn't like this card... I dunno. Using the original bios I was able to run 3dMark03, when flashing it back to X800 XT I get the same Windows error.

I bought it from a new trader for $207.50, so far it's worked in every game I've played with it, which is the only reason I'm reluctant to send it back. I don't mind not being able to use ATITool and run 3dmark03, but I'm also worried that there might be something wrong with the card. I'm just gonna keep playin with it and as long as it's rock stable through games I guess I'll keep it.
