I just bought a Leadtek FX5900XT so I could see/play Doom3 a little better then I was with my Ti4400. Well now after my install went south I can't play it at all.
Before I started I removed the old drivers from the add/remove program. I then added my card, but forgot to hook up my 4 pin power connector. <-----doh. So I then hooked it up and got back at it.
Well after it boots back up I get the new hardware found crap poping up and I fugure I'm good to go.
Well I put in my CD and start to install my drivers/DX9 and an intel chipset update they have listed... well the intel chipset DL will crap out after a 50% load. So I quit that and go back to my desktop. I see my card tools in my tool bar so I open it up and it shows my card running at 200/400. I new tha twas wrong as I thought they ran at 400/600 or some thing. So I go to my display/advanced properties and see my card listed and my drivers and what not.. I got to Leadtek.com to update the drivers...
Well as the drivers are loading I keep getting the "drivers are older then the ones in use"( or something like that) message. Sure enough, the new ones never load.. I go to Nvidia and try there newest drivers..Same thing... Argggg
So screw it.. I try to play Doom3....
And I am greeted by the error message ....."ERROR: The current video card / driver combination does not support the necessary features"
I then tried to play some CS.. same thing.. I have to play that in software mode.
I tried to un-install again but I keep getting the same thing.
And every time I think I am loading drivers and might have it done I keep getting a "new hardware found" poping up.
I am lost and have no idea what to do. Last time I went from my GF3 Ti200 to my Ti4400 it was a breeze... Now I'm fvcked....
Why do I even bother.....
Anyone?
