Hey all,

I replaced my old Soyo motherboard with a brand new Asus A7N8X-VM/400. I installed it and when I try to bootup everything seems like it's running, fans startup, but nothing is coming up on my screen. I've been tinkering around with it for hours and still no go. I'm not hearing any beeps, and I know I have all the LEDs installed correctly.

Here's the specs:

AMD Athlon XP 1900+
2 x 256 DDR2100
Seagate 7200RPM 60GB
Onboard Video
Onboard Sound

Any suggestions guys? Any help would be appreciated.

Ahem... "onboard video".

I would try using just 1 stick of RAM and try it in different slots.
Make sure you get it firmly seated.

1) Clear your cmos if you haven't done so already. Really clear it. Yank power, set jumper and remove battery for a minute or so. Every apparently DOA board I've received has been fixed by a simple CMOS clear.

2) Make sure the power and reset switch aren't getting stuck in. I had exactly the same symptoms you described and it turned out that the reset button on the cheap case I bought was stuck in.

3) Try a different video card, perhaps the onboard video is bad. (Happened to me with an asus board awhile back)

I tried to use a different video card, but it didn't work.

I tried clearing the CMOS but didn't go as far as taking the battery out. Will try that when I get home from work.

It's kinda weird that I'm not getting any beeps. When I've had this problem in the past I usually get some sort of sound to hint me in the right direction.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'd hate to have to return this board.
