I just recently installed new memory which gives me a total of 1gb PC3200 x4, and I notice now when I start my pc it gives me a blue screen (which I can read fast enough) and then has to reboot. Is this caused from my memory, because I noticed the problem started a few days after the install? What can I do. When I installed the memory I just put the memory in the slots, no bios changes, nothing. Is there something I should do? What about a mobo bios update? I have a A8N-SLI 1014 bios

Did you put the new RAM only in the first slot without the second RAM? Did you clean the slot and memory from dust? If this results without stop-errors, then there is no breach in the memory. After this check of the PC, shut down and remove the current cable. Use also a anti-static wristband to protect the delicate circuits. Put the second RAM in. I reckon you have pushed the pins deep enough into the slot; the side clamps give then a click into each notch.

Nope, both RAM were installed at the sametime, I used compressed air to clean out the inside of the tower and I made sure that the RAM was in to were I heard the clicks of the clamps. Within the last week the computer has been ok. I ran a cleanup, defrag, adaware, spybot and errornuker. Things seemed to have been ok

Is the new RAM you bought EXACTLY the same as the old? You need to check with the manufacturer to see if you have different revisions of memory. Mixing different revisions/speeds/sizes/brands etc can cause instability or a non boot like you have.

Also, what voltage are you running with the memory?

I'm not sure of the voltage, but I did check with the manufacturer and all the specs are the same its just that the new set is made in the us and the old was in japan. But, after a defrag, and cleanup it seems to have no problem on bootup
