Well I just got my Volcano 9 and I installed it, I added the thermal compound that came with it to the cpu and then put it on. Now the computer won't start up. It powers on, and everything runs, all fans spin, NIC lights up, and all, but no boot. Any ideas on the problem? I tried reseating the RAM quite a few times, and tried re-plugging all the IDE cables in, and also reseating the video card. Nuthing seems to work. There also is some sort of square left over on the CPU from the old heatsink I guess, do I need to get this off? If so how, cuz I can't figure it out?

Do you think my cpu is fried?

You might begin by making sure your heatsink isn't installed 180° backwards: tips

Also, what motherboard are you using and did you plug the V9's fan into the motherboard, or into the PSU? If it's running off the motherboard, try powering it from the PSU instead, because some motherboards get  when the RPM level on the fan is low or variable. And don't plug in the RPM plug into the motherboard either, at least for troubleshooting purposes.
