I fried my XP1800+ somehow in it, and got a new XP2000+ it posted once after messing with the bios it woudnt post, i turned on my speakers and the computer keeps saying "failed memory test" the memory hasnt been touched durring the CPU swap and the computer did POST once, i tried to move the memory all around but it dosent seem to change anything, I also took another stick of DDR 2100 and it still said memory failed, i tried to reset the bios numerous times and that dosent help either, what else could be the problem?

My guess= you fried your motherboard along with the CPU, seeing as you already tried other memory in it and a new cpu and it still doesn't work. The easiest way to find out for sure is to swap the memory out to a known working motherboard and see what happens.

but the mobo posted with the new cpu, i did some research on google and alot of people had this problem after changing CPU setting, the mobo never posted again following the "memory failed" error some people got them running again some didnt, maybe someone ran into this here?

I would suggest reseting the CMOS; the jumper is usually labeled on the motherboard itself or you can look it up in the manual.

i reset it numerous times, as well as pulling the battery along with the jumper and pulling out the ATX power cord, and held down "insert" while trying to POST which is supposed to clear some settings from the CMOS.

In that case I would recommend going to a local store (or perhaps a friend) and testing out a new stick of ram... local stores usually have a 1 week - 30 day return policy. If that doesn't work, then try the same thing with the motherboard.

That could be a possibility as well.

Try getting like pc2700 or pc3200 ram to test... Man I hope I do not have that problem with my board I just got my return cpu from AMD :

I have the same mobo, tried with a 2 sticks of Crucial 256mb PC2100 Registered ECC. System does not POST. Works with Unbuffered DDR.

it stoped working with the two sticks of memory that i've been useing for a year without a problem, i didnt change the memory voltage, all i changed in the bios was the multiplier.

Full system specs please, including brand and model of power supply and what core the new 2000+ uses (if you know). Also, since you fried a CPU, review your heatsink-installation skilz, noting the third and fourth photos.

Your board has a CPU_FSB jumper to the left of the northbridge heatsink that you can use to force 100MHz bus speed if necessary.
