I swapped out my AMD Sempron 2800+ (socket 754) for an AMD Athlon 3200+ in my ASUS K8N-E Deluxe mobo, but when I start the computer Windows won't load in any mode. It just keeps restarting. When I put the old cpu back in it loads just fine. Have any of you guys had this problem and figured out how to fix it? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I may soon be in your same boat---but (a) have you checked to see if the mobo will support that new processor. (b) Try setting your bios to bios defaults and you may need to reflash the bios to a newer version. (c) Is it possible that the new processor is somehow defective?

Thanks for the reply Lemon. And as far as your suggestions go:

(a) I've been told the motherboard is compatible
(b) I'll check into the bios stuff you mentioned
(c) I'm afraid this IS a possiblity, although I'm not sure, yet, if that's the problem.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

There is also the possibility that the CPU is bad. But my first bet would be the BIOS flash like Lemon suggested to take care of the issue.
