installed divx codec and divx movies has no sound!

i know im doing something wrong here and maybe its got to do with m hercules game theater xp, any suggestions?

hmm.. I had this problem when I was using win98... when I reformatted and installed Win2K the problem went away. It was probably a bad install of some sound driver. I couldn't really tell you though.

many divx ;-) movies have mp3 soundtrack. do you have lame_acm or radium (FGH) codec installed?
any problems with sound drivers?

i dont know sh!t about GTXP/Santa Cruz drivers. ask someone who has the card. i did hear they ahd some problems with DX8, but movie playback? there is a way to fix it.

i don't no how to answer your question. well for my knowlege is the driver is not ferpect under win2000pro. there for it take me three day to fix it our for the sound right.

i think he said the win2k drivers are far from perfect and it took him 3 days to figure out the disable mp3 thing

no you are wrong what i mean is setting work perfect like anble 5.1 and digital at the same time dude.well i use audio aut conected to my sound card but that one is useless during playback the sound generated hum sound like disk spinning. so all i have to do is diable it and the sound it perfect no distortion and no weir sound like that

I and some others encode mpeg4's with Ac3 audio. For that, even if you have a software DVD player installed you will need to register the ac3 codec. To play an ac3 mpeg4, goto doom9.net . In the download section find the ac3-pack, download, and run the register filters file.

i have no problem with ac3 but mp3 hardware on and after playing music or watch divx movie for 15 then the sound began mix with something weir like the comeing from boil water and the oringinal sound hardly to heard

yes, disabling mp3 accel works.. mp3 accel for these cards doesn't work right yet sad... that and install radium mp3 codec
