Hehe...I feel ya man. I'm stuck at my parent's house. On a Pentium 200 w/ 16 MB of EDO ram. Not only that...I've got a blazing Diamond Stealth 3D w/ 4MB of VRAM. 😀

woah. v330.. i remember paying like $230 or something like that at compusa when it came out.. moto racer looked awesome back then...

edit: hmm. when the v330 came out, wasnt 3dfx the bigger of the 2 companies popularity wise.?

Yeah, the voodoo 2 w/SLI was really big back then if I remember correctly. Wow... 5 years have passed since then. I STILL want to get 2 of those cards and see how they hold up. I wonder what Sharky's gaming PC guide was running at that time?

We could probably use an atari 2600 for spare parts for his computer, if he ever needs help fixing it, he might need to leave it with ATOT for a while, we might need to do some Carbon Dating on it...

<< Yeah I've pretty much stopped doing major upgrades to my computer. I've been into computers long enough to know that if I sink 200 dollars into the latest, greatest whatever card, I won't care 2 years later and all that money was wasted in the end.

It's kind of funny to watch the video card flame wars among newbies cause it looks hecka stupid and pointless in a year. 😀 A long time ago I remember skimming dozens of pages of flame wars about why the K6-2 was better than the celeron and now, no one gives a sh*t.

TAKE IT BACK... TAKE IT BACK.... My Voodoo 3 3000pci is just breaking out of its shell.....

*is crying in a corner*

Dude, grab yourself a ATI Rage128 Pro (Xpert2000 Pro) 32MB AGP card, they're going for around $25 now-a-days. No, they're not GF3, but for crying out loud it is better than a 4MB Riva128 by an order of magnitude.

<< Yeah I've pretty much stopped doing major upgrades to my computer. >>

I haven't stopped upgrading, but I wait for all the suckers to plop down $200++ for the latest and greatest tempware, and when the price bottoms out (like the ATI card above), then I grab it up.

Heh.. my linux box has a Matrox Millennium G200 (8MB) in it, and it's got excellent 2D support 🙂 No complaints about that card since I bought it back in 97 or 98..

<< Hmmm, full screen video playback isn't so great. I guess I can pick up one of those GTS-Vs that everyone is raving about. >>

Good choice. 😀 For $50 it's awesome.

<< Yeah at the time the voodoo 2 was the big thing. A single voodoo 2 was twice as a fast as a RIVA 128 back then. >>

The Riva128 was supposed to be nVidia's answer to the Voodoo1 IIRC. The TNT was the answer to Voodoo2, TNT2 to Voodoo3. My STB Velocity 128 (Riva128 w/ 4mb RAM) was the first video card I ever bought (at Best Buy for a whopping $180!!). People were really raving about it back then because it was the only card that offered anything close to Voodoo1 speeds PLUS it had 2d! Ahhh... memories of filtered Direct3d gaming goodness with Motoracer 1....
