Installed a new hardrive, but windows won't detect it. Help.

I installed a new hardrive with a promise ATA66 controller. When the computer boots up, the controller sees it ok, but when I go to my computer, it's not there. I have a regular ATA33 drive with windows as the master and my new hardrive is the slave. Any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks.

is the drive partitioned? windows won't detect a hard drive that isn't partitioned.

I also found that with Windows 2000, it didn't like it when my drive was set as ATA100 (running off an ATA33 controller). Windows 98 was fine with it (after I set the partition up on the drive).
