Installation of Quicktime

I've been trying to install Quicktime 7. Everytime I do I get and error that says

The InstallScript Engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISScript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assistance.

I have tried deleting the Installshield Driver folder in Program files. Redownloaded and installed ISScript11.Msi (even though I noticed when Quicktime was installing that it extracts ISScript11.Msi).

I have tried downloading the iTunes & Quicktime combo installation, but that does not seem to work.

My whole problem is iTunes does not work on my computer. All of a sudden when I try to run it it crashes and asks me if I want to send an error report to MS - every time! So I thought I would try to install Quicktime first seperatly, and then install iTunes. But neither one works.

Anyone got any thoughts on either problem??

Thanks for the reply. I've tried everything in suggested in the help doc and it still didn't help. Quicktime would install in Safe Mode and I still had the same error message after updating DirectX. Any other thoughts?
