Installation/Bootup Sequence

Is there a CORRECT way or a PREFERRED sequence to install components/cards?
If so, please list...

You can start with the video card only and then add the PCI/ISA card one by one, installing drivers and rebooting between each. Personally, I just stick everything in all at once.

I install all the cards, then the OS. After that, I install the mobo drivers, directX, video card drivers, and sound card drivers (if possible, download the newest drivers ahead of time). If there's anything left (ethernet, modem, scanner), I'll go to the Hardware Manager in the control panels and click on any device that has a question mark with an exclamation point through it. If you click on it, there will be an option to reinstall drivers. I do this, and direct it to the appropriate folder. There must be countless correct ways to do it, but this has worked well for me.

I would add all USB devices (scanners, printers, etc) after successfully installing the OS along with the drivers for all "regular" hardware.
