Install WinXP on PC CArd when Locked out of OS

I have a laptop for work that is running WIn2k and I am locked out of most privladeges (can't install stuff, can't even run ipconfig). I was wondering if I can install a PC Card Hard Drive and install Win XP on that so I can boot the system in that and have full privledges. The main cocnerns is will I be able to install the PC Card HDD when I have no privledges in Win 2k and will I be able to install Win XP on it without messing up any of the Win 2k Install. Thanks for the help.

I'm sure your company has the privileges locked down for a reason, and wouldn't look too highly upon someone trying to get around them.

But by doing it this way it is lease invasive and I am not messing with the win2k install. I wanted to truly bypass the privledges I could just reset the admin password.

well said and agreed. im a network admin and if i caught anyone doing that they would be sure to be fired immediately! best to just ask the admin for more privilages and give you power user access on the network and admin access locally.
