I found this heatsink & fan is really tight. I put a lot of effort and finally I got the clip hooked to tab on the motherboard. In process, I cut part of the tab since the clip bounced back up a few times before it finally hooked. Now I found my pencil work (L1 bridges) on Duron 600mhz wasn't good, it is not overclocked at all. I need to take the heatsink out, but am afraid I might break the tab and they won't be able to be hooked together anymore. Just wonder if you have similar experience, and if there are any better tools than my small screw driver that can help me do the job better and easier.

If you look closely at the clip, you will notice that on one end there is actually a slot for you to insert a flat head screwdriver to help apply safe pressure.

If you don't use this slot than you risk having the screwdriver slip out and damage the motherboard.

Also, a tight fit is ideal. It allows for maximum heat transfer between the CPU and the heatsink.

I've installed 2 TaiSol's for myself, and about a half-dozen for friends who also purchased the TaiSol. So far, I have never had a single problem installing the heatsink.

Be sure you don't let go of the clip too early when you are bending it back to attach to the socket. Otherwise the clip will snap back and probably chip off a piece of the plastic tab from the socket.

Dude,
Size does matter
If you have the correct size, you will worry less about slipping out

If you are worry about your screw driver slipping out. Try a needle nose plyer. Just don't bend it too far from it current shape.
