Install SP1 before SP2?

Maluno

I just installed Windows XP Pro on a new computer I built, and I have installed all of the graphics drivers/ chipset drivers/ etc.

I have to install SP1 before SP2, right? And can I just let windows update do all of that when I connect it to the internet, or should I download the Service Packs on another patched PC and burn it to a cd in order to minimize security exposure? I have Nvidea Firewall on the new PC, and I can put some antivirus software on there in order to harden it while I use windows update. So what are your suggestions?

Ok thanks a lot for your quick response! I'm going to download the offline installation and burn it to a cd, so I don't jeopardize my virgin install. 🙂

The way you are going to do it is a "waste of time"

He just finished installing a fresh XP and drivers ...read the post. Slipstreaming and re-installing at this point would be the waste of time.
