Hi, I wrote a batch for Windows 2000 / XP in order to automate the installation of SETI@Home as a service. I based my batch on one found with google which was designed for installation from a floppy drive and for Windows XP only (I lost the address, so I cannot give credit to it's author :( ).

I added some stuffs like : support of installation from any drive (I didn't tried installation path with spaces), support of Windows 2000 default path, support of MPS (up to 4 CPUs), ...

I tested it successfully on the following systems :
- Windows 2000 Pro SP3 - 1 CPU
- Windows XP Pro SP1 - 1 CPU
- Windows 2000 Server - 2 CPUs
- Windows 2000 Server - 4 CPUs

You can download it here : SETI@Geneva_Install_Service.zip (104 KB)

Please read the readme.txt file, it will help you doing the right things. I won't give any support for it and you will use it at your own risk... Hope you will enjoy it :)

Assimilator1 : Yeah, I'm too busy to give support ;) I think it's simple enough to modify it... if needed :)

I tested it one one more computer (Windows 2000 Pro SP3 - 2 CPUs) and it installed itself in a few seconds

If only I could deploy it on my customers networks :p

Nice

Hmmm - Makes me want to try to get my XP SetiHide install script to include win2K.
Too bad SETI is "ending" in a few months.

Oh yeah - and I don't "support" my hacked-together script either(your script is nice, mine=suck:p ) Use at your own risk;):p
