Install same WinXP Pro on 2 computers?

I'm not asking for information about cracking Windows Activation, or bootleg serial numbers, and I'm not here to get into some big ethical debate about this either, I just want to know.

What will happen if you install the same license on two different systems? I assume that when you try to activate the second one online, it will deny it and tell you to call. If you call and activate it, what ,if anything, will happen to the first computer ? Would this affect Windows Update? Can MS do anything to cripple either install?

I'd hope that as soon as the second one is activated, the first one would become deactivated. But I'm probably wrong. :(

wow, you guys posted some helpless posts... why did you bother to post at all? Anyway, i do believe that you can use a serial number twice (since microsoft lets you activate twice online) but it's still not legal to do. Of course it is up to you what to do, but you are supposed to buy another copy rather than do this... Both should be able to be activated at the same time though afaik

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get another license from M$?
