hey
i've never dealt with AGP before, so I have no clue how to install it. I have an AOPEN AX64 motherboard that supports AGP 4x, and from the specs, it says that the radeon 32ddr LE supports 4x as well, but after reading some posts about the radeon, people are saying AGP 4x doesnt work? whats the deal with that?

and also for installation for radeon? what do u do? remove old card, insert new card, install drivers, install via 4-in-1 (??), tweak..and done?

I would have the newest 4and1's installed before you put the new card in. I would also make sure you have directx8 and its patches installed as well. Boot into windows and remove the old drivers for the video card and when it asks you to reboot you say yes. Then dont let the machine restart, unplug it, pull out the old card, and put in the new one. Enable agp 4x mode in the bios by hitting "DEL" at startup. Power back up and install the drivers that came on the disk. Then I would go to ati's support site and get the newest driver revision and update the drivers. Should be enough to get you started.

according to most posters in the Rage3d.com forum, stability is not the greatest on VIA boards when you use AGP 4x. The Intel boards do not have this problem..

I must be very lucky then,;)

I have been using my LE @ 166 with stock drivers at 4X agp in Win2k for over 4 months & not 1 problem here.
