I want to set up a Raptor 76gb as a boot hard drive on a clean install of WinXP on a DFI lan Party m/b. Do I just let the Winxp cd do it's stuff, or do I need to install some drivers using F6 on the Bios load?

You will probably have to load some drivers. I'm not sure if a sp2 disc fixes this or not, but I'd bet it does.

nope it doesn't. You will need to hit f6 and load both the RAID and SATA storage driver from the floppy disc that comes with the lanparty. Don't worry it will run with just 1 drive fine even though it says RAID.

I did the exact same thing, but I have an Asus MB. What I did was go to Asus's web site and downloaded the SATA driver and made a floppy. Then during the windows XP load screen I hit f6 and it prompted me to insert the floppy and loaded the driver and away I went. It was pretty simple.

I did not need to use drivers using my Raptor on my Soltek mobo.

I just made sure I used the native nVidia SATA ports, not the Promise ports.

Ok, I installed the drivers for the DFI diskette, and WinXp is currently formatting the Raptor. It's reporting the size of the partition as 70896 MB. Is that consistent with it's description as a 76gig drive?
