Wait for the 7800GTX version, at least to see how much it costs. Otherwise, it looks slick.

Yea, I thought bout that however I dont have a need for a more powerful video cord than the one I chose, heck I think the video card is more powerful than my desktop video card haha

i'm willing to bet that you wont find it for much cheaper until next year or so. how long do you have until that 25% off coupon expires?

There must be a hell of a premium for the 4 year warranty in there?

The price to upgrade to the 7200rpm drives is silly -

I have a 9300 with the 80GB 5400 drive and the WuXGA screen, GF 6800 etc

Total price shipped with tax to FL was $1438 back in May.

You can get a gig of RAM at Newegg for $73 shipped.

You can easily buy a nicely kitted out 9300 for around $1700 with tax and shipping.

Never, ever buy memory, or batteries from Dell, they are insanely insanely overpriced. Even the upgrade to 512 is a rip off, and it's the best deal Dell has, by far. The worst is the upgrade to 2 gig, I think it was 800 bucks, only about 600 more than 2 sticks of exactly the same ram would cost from a hundred online vendors.

You can buy two larger batteries on ebay (They are real Dell Batts) for less than Dell wants for ONE. The accessories and upgrades seem to be the real profit generators in the laptop business.

My 9300 has been a champ in the almost 6 months I've had it. Zero problems.

Can't say the same for the people I have talked to at Dell though. Getting a XP CD was a torturous process, and then whe I didn't get an invoice for the first payment, I called Dell Financial and went on a round the world phone trip, talking to one clueless foreign person after another...

It's going to be paid off in a few days and I'm done with them.
