i cant believe someone else hasnt posted it yet here

of course add ebates for 2% and amer business if u have it for whatever their discount is

i guess shipping also has to be considered

Is Rossman still on leave. Who gave him permission to go?

No I guess, he is referring to Faculty, Staff section of Dell. You get

1) 100$ Rebate or Free Upgrade to CDRW/DVD
2) 100$ rebate or Free 2nd Battery

Thus Price is what he shows. But We need to pay shipping + Tax. So it kills the deal.

Can anyone tell me why we pay Tax in all US state if we by as Faculty / Student from Dell ? We don't pay tax from Home/Home office.

Where does it say that there is a $150 rebate on inspiron 8200 systems? I looked at dell.com and couldn't find anything, just a generic rebate form that does not say what qualifies. Thanks.

I agree. I see generic form which says apply to qualifying system purchased after 5/2/02. It doesn't state any amount.

Can anyone tell me can we combine this with current offer and give it a shot ? Don't know it workd or not ? What do u guys say ?

you're legally required to pay tax on the home section, its just that dell doesn't collect it. faculty/student is the edu division, and i guess they collect tax just like the small biz section does.

As per tech@bargins, rebate is valid for Desktop as well as laptop. However, on dell website home/home office, I don't see any rebate. tech@bargin writes "Take a print out of page to prove rebate existed" Does anyone has print out ? If so, pls put it up. I will return my Dell i8200 bought before 20 days and jump on this.

I guess dell screwed up again. It might be their promotion coming up tomorrow but i can't see rebate detail on theire website today.

Sorry, I can't make this deal work. I don't know where this mystical $150 rebate can be found, but I can't find it. If someone else can, then this could be a nice deal.

unfortunately they have removed the 150 off rebate from the site although i guess u could send in the blank rebate form if u send a copy of the page
it was on the page from the link provided by techb@rgains
under notebook deals it said
-chose free memory upgrade of 150 off with mail in rebate
-free cd burner or dvd upgrade
-free 2nd battery

they have removed the 150 off
since their rebate forms are generic, it might have a chance with a copy of the page with date

I guess this must be their deal comming up tomorrow. As of today I can't see Free Memory Upgrade or 150$ Off. However their Rebate form states "Valid after qualifying system purchased after May 2, 2002. So Do we qualify as of today ?

dshodson Dp you have copy of page (screen shot) with 150$ rebate, if so its a hot deal.

its a print out of the page that says choose free memory upgrade or 150 off with mail in rebate under the category of notebook special offers
it also list the free cd-burner or dvd upgrade and free 2nd battery on the same page
i hope it helps u
im in the military and am leaving town for a few weeks so i dont think i can get in on this (unless i could get them to send it overnight)

p.s. it looks like the typing police are out in full force again so hands off the caps lock key and bold selection
