I would sooner chew out my own kidneys than purchase one of these. They're miserable laptops.
You're better off buying a 10-year-old broken laptop, screaming at it for a few hours, and saving your money to buy something better.
(Heck, I paid a whopping 750$ for my NC4010. A better laptop in every way, and with remarkably good tech support. I hate dell, and seeing as how I'm now parting out a dead D600 (the Latitude, A.K.A overpriced buisness edition, of this laptop), I can say that this is a real sour apple.

I've only had good experiences with Dell laptops, but I personally would get a centrino. Prices are so low these days its a struggle not to buy another laptop.
