ok, I've thrown out a thread at cpus/overclocking about this b/c I'm so stoked. Basically, I got a custom-built Inspiron 1525 with a T7250 processor and the new Santa Rosa platform. Aigomorla mentioned to me that I can at my leisure drop in a mobile penryn cpu, too...I was just doing some reading and was reminded about intel's new turbo memory. I'm on a GM965 as this was supposed to be a "budget" computer that I just kind of lucked into. How do I check to see if there is any turbo memory, and can I get some if it's not already installed? Also, is it even worth messing with?

i may be wrong, but the intel turbo memory is like a ssd drive, similiar to what the eee pc's use. i looked into them, and from what i found, a 1gb module costs start at $30 before shipping. It gets used like a USB readyboost drive. go to ebay, type in "intel turbo memory" and it will pull a couple up

that sounds pretty cheap. How exactly will it boost performance? iirc the turbo memory didn't get the best reviews last year when they announced it.

Turbo memory has little to no performance gains. You will get better performance with more ram then turbo memory.
