Insomnia == time for a walk

I'm not sure why, but lately I find myself waking up around 5:00 and having trouble getting back to sleep. After about a week of this, I've decided to turn this into an opportunity to actually do some of that exercise that I'm usually too lazy to do and have taken up walking. The weather early in the morning is perfectly mild, and it's nice to be out in the neighborhood when it's quiet and the birds and squirrels are up and about.

I'm not looking to burn calories or lose weight, just increase my activity level (which is not too hard from close to zero besides yardwork). Any other recreational walkers have any advice/tips I should consider as I get underway?

Not sure if this will help you since you seem to like the serenity, but i always carry my mp3 player with me. The music seems to make the walks much more enjoyable and is second only to having a companion to walk with. Preferably of the female type.😀
