My dad has been saying that Inside Man was a good flick, so we watched it together thanks to Comcast On Demand. The first hour or so was really quite well done. It was all buildup and had some very cool performances and setup of the situation which was a bank robbery. I was really digging it. It really didn?t feel too much like a Spike Lee movie until one scene where Denzel?s character does that stupid floaty character move Spike likes to put in his movies (that I can?t stand). You also had your bigot cops, your stereotyping, and general racial tension, but it wasn?t as heavy handed as most of his other movies.

Anyways, as I said the buildup was great? but then the climax and conclusion really just were kinda bland and a let down. It was almost like they thought the movie was getting too long, so they sped up the story and rolled credits.

Overall it was a good movie, but I just wish there was a better finale. What did you guys think?

I've tried to watch Spike Lee movies... I give 'em a shot every now and again. I just can't do it.

Maybe I'll give this one a shot if as you say it isn't as "heavy handed".

I enjoyed watching it the first time through and watched it again the other night with my wife.

I still enjoyed it but like it more the first time through. I don't think it is one that I will need to own.

I agree with you; the finale was a letdown for me after a good buildup of story and tension.

I'm still not entirely sure what the title Inside Man refers to. Is it that Clive Owen's character *Spoiler* moor egarots eht edisni gnidih? (read backword)

:)

Loved the movie. Don't know much about Spike Lee movies. The fact that he directed this made no difference to me. And if this is the kind of movies he makes, I'll watch more.

Yes.

somehow not putting this together until the end of the movie based solely on the film's title is funny (I'll admit, I didn't figure it out until the end). I think the title misleads people to thinking that one of the hostages or one of the cops is actually in on the whole ordeal.

I've recently seen him in Closer, Sin City and Children of Men: loved him in all three. How is Derailed? The 6.5 score on IMDb seems fairly average.

Haven't seen it, but the Croupier is one of my favorite mystery flicks of recent vintage.
