wow nice those who have got their batterys pretty f'ed up with time and power usage. You get new batteries for free! That is ofcourse on the lighter side of things. but 4.1 million notebook batteries is such a huge number!

Well, Every major vendor uses Sony to supply the cels used in SOME of their batteries.

Seems how they package, and charge them is different by vendor, and that seems to be what bit Dell. Several documented notebooks out of millions sold isn't too bad though - Just wear flame retardant pants....and gloves. :p

glad the battery on my E1705 is not on the recall list. Turns out to be a battery manufactured by Sanyo.

Ihave a 9300 and its battery is not on the list...BTW..I love my 9300. This is very unfortunate for Dell at this time since they have been suffering somewhat as of late with Cust. Service reputation issues. When actually in fact, this has nothing to do with Dell at its grassroots..its crapy Sony Batteries..I just guess they will have to live with it.

My batteries are on the list (700m 8-cell) but when I enter the PPID it says it's not due for replacement. What gives?

My 9 cell battery for my E1505 made in japan is not recalled.

Dodged a bullet there i think.

Sony is footing the bill according to dell. Nothing but bad news for sony lately.
