you know you wanted one:awe:

Very cool, though he and I seem to have a different mindset with this type of stuff. He seems to prefer accuracy over making everything himself, so there are parts he bought from the guys who got their hands on the original prop. I would rather have stuck with my own hand crafted stuff than to stick something on there somebody else made. In my mind that was kind of the point... to try and make it myself. It's less special to me if I just buy stuff.

you buy stuff regardless, why would he make a button switch if they were sold and also used by the original prop maker?

It's not that he bought a switch INSTEAD of making one, it's that he bought the replica switch after already putting in the work to get the other one and presumably had it installed. Just seems odd to me to throw out your personal effort for something that's now off the shelf (a specific shelf but a shelf nonetheless), but I guess if you want it to be dead nuts accurate that's the way to go.

his goal was to make a copy, not an original art work😉
