yeah you can put around 6 divx (700MB) movies on a single DVD. if you need mpeg-2 (so that a non-divx dvd player can read it) you might be able too, but not without a severe loss of quality.
this ofcourse also depends on the length and size of the movies. use nero vision which can compress videos so that they'll fit.
And, you can also convert them to MPEG files. They are highly compressed. Quality does suffer, but it is not all that apparent on a small screen. It is great for handhelds like Archos.
