Insert a formula into Word? Keep getting syntax error

I go to Insert - Field - Formula and type in

=INT((TODAY()-DATE(1982,5,1))/365)

i get syntax error.

When i Paste that into excel I get the result (26) - how do I get this to work - and update as necessary?

I don't really think you can do it, but either way, even if you can, this example looks frightening: http://www.gmayor.com/insert_a...e_other_than_today.htm

Frankly I would just do it in an Excel spreadsheet and then link the spreadsheet from Word. I believe it can still update in realtime that way, as long as the Excel spreadsheet is updating as well. You could also use some of Word's VBA features to insert a control that does it for you.
