There would be two posibilities the train left all of the brain intact but just uncovered it so all the pathways and higher order function are more or less intact, other than vision and olfaction. Hence it will still mostly work since the muscle tone and movement pathways are still functioning. Highly unlikely I reckon to get such a clean cut from a freaking train! But as I said I ain't looking again.

Yeah this is what I'm guessing, the brain is all there. Everything ahead of the brain - the eyes, nose, jaw, mouth aren't immediately necessary. As long as the cow doesn't choke from the blood going down its throat and the major arteries and veins were pinched off it may be standing there a while.

That's pretty stomach turning. I wonder if they could put a feeding tube down it's throat and keep it alive. It doesn't seem to be bleeding much.

Just wanted to come in and say you are a bunch of sick fucks. I didn't nor will I ever watch this or any video like it. If watching humans or animals getting mutilated gets your rocks off then seek some help. The Internet has just brought out the worst in people or maybe it's just revealed what a truly sick sad world we live in.

Get off your high horse, were not getting our "rocks off", we are just fascinated by the grotesque.

As a side note it is pretty gory but it's not too horrific. You don't actually see the cow getting be-faced just the aftermath, and there is no blood.

Can someone PLEASE answer the question of WTF happened, enough people have asked for it at this point. I mean come on already, 4 pages in and all I know is something about a train, a descrption of what occured would be nice when you label a video as graphic OP, for future reference.

I have no idea what the hell "befaced" is, but I have no desire to watch it.

Cow is standing in the middle of a field, camera man zooms in showing a cow without a face, just a void of nothingness were the face should be, the wound itself is a pinkish red, video quality is too poor to see any detail but there are bits of skin hanging off.

Cameraman pans to the face lying on the ground it's mostly just a mass of skin and unidentifiable face entrails, theirs no blood, it just looks like something you would see in a butcher shop in a foreign country.

He then pans back to the cow who proceeds to "look" at him and twitch it's ears a bit. The cow doesn't move at all it turns it's head a bit but that's it.

Honestly my description makes it sound worse than it actually is.

Trust me - it isn't that bad. Since you watch MMA, it's not as stomach-cringing as Corey Hill's leg snap. Just watch it.

I used to watch MMA, way back when, now I just watch fight here and there. I am certainly not a fan.

I am even less of a fan of watching animals being hurt.

Woah, just watched it. WTF is going on with that cow?

It definitely wasn't anywhere near as "gross" or "stomach churning" as some people said, it's not like you see the cow getting defaced, the video starts well after. Seeing as to how far away the cow is compared to where it's head was laying, I'm curious as to how long it had happened before these guys showed up with a camera. It had to have been alive for a decent amount of time. What a weird, weird phenomenon.

Brain stem still intact and most of the cortex. All the nerves are severed so there isn't much if any pain for the cow. Pretty fascinating really. As long as it could still breathe and blood loss was stopped the cow could survive like this for days before it died of dehydration.
