Insane Asrock X99 Extreme 11!

I came across the Asrock X99 Extreme 11 board and thought 18 SATA ports (10 are SATA3 ports from the Intel X99 Express chipset, 8 are SAS ports stemming from the LSI SAS 3008 controller) and five PCI-E 3.0 x 16slots for 4-way graphics cards! Maybe I should consider this to build my storage server and do a bit of HD video editing. Thoughts?

Oh, there it is again, the PLX PEX bridge. Im glad Asrock got it there.Do those things really work, I mean, the additional lanes, like its like native...?

Can't believe the price of some of these boards, 10 years ago enthusiast boards were $200 dollars, and that's about where it topped out at.

I'm probably one of the few that uses the ASRock Z87 Extreme11
There is always a market for their Extreme11 series boards. I use mine for a bounch of stuff gaming, media server, video editing with all 22 SATA ports even 2way SLI. Might be a bit over kill 4 way SLI but who knows...

That's very impressive from a hardware perspective, but it seems like a jack of all trades at staggering price. If money were no object, I'd be all over it! 😀

I had an ASRock X79 Extreme11 since I needed all 8 LSI SATA ports for an eight SSD array. X99 comes with 10 already, so there's really no need for me to go with the X99 Extreme11. The LSI controller does offer much greater bandwidth though.

Yeah, I wouldn't even consider something at this price if I didn't use Asrock boards from awhile back and thought it was really good!

I read about this one and the reviews and comments on Newegg are really good! I would consider this too, but doesn't seem like they carry these anymore...
