Far from it, dude. I'm not an nVidia fan, if you looked closely at my posts, you would clearly see that I always point out the strengths and weaknesses of both GPUs and actually admit that people can now go by preference. Actually, before nVidia improved its performance e.g. in F.E.A.R., I'd intended to order an ATi card. I almost got one. Now, seeing how no single card can really satisfy me, I'm getting SLI. It's that simple.

Like I said a thousand times, ATi scores in the shader performance, HDR+AA, HQAF, price and availability departments, while nVidia dominates the OpenGL performance, heatsink noise, advanced AA, power consumption and multi GPU areas. Seems like a pretty close match.

Since when does nVidia have anything better than Quality Adaptive AA?

Oh really? I guess since it runs around 65C under full load @ 690/1565, that definatly means it's going to melt.

Well your either very lucky, have a very loud system with so many additional fans, have water cooling, have phenomenal air flow or have a rare XTX.
Because most people report 70+ degrees load, some in the 90's and beyond.
I have very good airflow in my case, 3 x 120mm fans, (one directly over the GPU) 2 x 80mm fans and a vantec twin fan VGA cooler.
My XTX still reached 70+ at load. Sometimes even 80 :s
My 7900 GT's (just look at how crap the stock coolers are) never go above 55 degrees.
BIG difference, considering the 7900 GT cooler is practically non-existant and the XTX's is a behemoth.

I think if ATI release the X1950 with a superior cooling solution, they will have sealed the deal however. I may even consider picking one up again, or two X1900 XL's depending on price/performance.

65C @ full load is with fans @ 100%. Otherwise I believe it goes into the 70's, but I've never had anything in the 80's AFAIK.

But does'nt that just annoy the hell out of you :Q
I mean, the XTX at 100% is a beast! Unless you use closed cap headphones or pump up the volume seriously loud, they would be a persistant irritation. I'd be very reluctant to ever leave them at 100%, hell even the 7900 GT's at 100% are way too annoying.

The only time I have it @ 100% is benchmarking. Otherwise I just customize the fan in ATI Tool.

Well then, that doesnt count does it?
You cant go around posting a claim of 65 degrees load when it's only ever that just before your benchmarking and have the speed at a ridiculous 100%.
Post temps that are based on your average day to day useage speeds, otherwise users will just be misinformed and expect the impossible.
Record your GPU load temp after say 2 hours of COD2 with your standard fan set up (not the 100% one you use for benchmarking) and then tell me what your load temp is.
I bet it's higher then 70 degrees.

Extelleron u r giving some misleading info..! somtimes ur fan runs 100% under 80C then u say u use that for benches only..so wuts ur NORMAL temp while playing? or u bought that card for benches only?

Can you use "you" instead of u? Is it so hard to type out 2 more letters. Can you spell? Is it so hard to use correct punctuation? What are you 12?

If running quiet/cool is the only thing you care about then........... wow.

Anyway, price comparison, cheapest XT/X I can find vs. cheapest GTX:

HIS X1900XT $428 AR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814161168

eVGA 7900GTX 650/1600 $539
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130279

X1900XT is slightly faster overall, has better features such as HDR+AA/HQAF, AND is $111 cheaper than the cheapest GTX I can find.

The thread was about an article quoting prices in Euros = Europe. USA prices (Newgg) do not apply here.

European prices don't matter. The price in USD is the only thing that counts- the USA is where the buyers are, for the most part.

i would say china and that area are probably where the buyers are....for the most part. they love their tech.

And how many can afford that in China? Also btw I support ATI so call me a fanboy if you want but that's only because I don't like nvidia's marketing practices and message. That's why I don't like them =)

you dont like NV marketing practice? yet jokers doing the exact same thing.....free of charge lol.

seriously people need to kinda wake up on this board....the business world isnt a nicey nice place like certain people here think it should be

1. X1900XT/X offers better performance than 7900GTX in MOST games.
2. ATI offers slightly better image quality OVERALL, contributed to by better features.
3. ATI offers better features such as HDR+AA and HQAF.
4. The X1900XT/X has much better availability and is priced better than the 7900GTX.

1. Xbitlabs review: most popular gaming resolution, 1280*1024, 4*AA, 16*AF or HDR: 7900 GTX - 12 wins, X1900XTX - 4 wins. Shall I say "incorrect"?

2. Vague and already included in point 3.

3. nVidia offers better advanced AA modes and a better multi GPU platform - more mature, stable, compatible with more games, usually faster. So, it's only partially correct, at best.

5. Correct on the whole, although e.g. here in Poland, 7900 GTX is available without any problems. Actually, the cheapest GTX I've seen is cheaper than the cheapest XTX. Cheapest GTX: PLN 1999. Cheapest XTX: PLN 2160. Cheapest XT: PLN 1890.

1280x1024 might be the more *popular* resolution among the masses, but the masses do not own 7900GTX's/X1900XTX's. Those who do almost ALWAYS play @ 1600x1200 4x/16x, or higher. And the GTX is more expensive in the USA......

i use 12x10 4xaa 16xaf......yeah i really need a bigger LCD...17inch sux

5150 isn't paid. ATI has denied it totally. If they are found out to do viral marketing then they would be totally screwed. Don't assume. If you can prove 5150 is paid do so. basically put up or shut up. There are "nvidiots" here just as often as FanATIcs. Nvidia's marketing message of we'll give you what you need right now doesn't cut it with me.

Seems like the vast majority of people who are unhappy with my pro-ATi threads are nV fans..gee what a surprise!

Let's see: In a recent review FS shows the XTX being the faster card, Extremetech's vid card roundup also shows this and now INQ demonstrates that a stock XTX beats out an overclocked GTX while having better IQ and features.

What do nV fans have: A flawed Xbit article + the same old drivel about power consumption and heat...yawn.

So basically, everyone who disagrees with you is simply a mere fanboy, and any article from a credable hardware site that doesn't line up with what you say must obviously be flawed.

It's so nice when you make it obvious for us how biased you really are by making posts like this. Thanks.

You already admitted you were an ATI fanboy, so why do you expect us to take you seriously?

Also, it's only hurting 5150joker's reputation to have an ATI fanboy supporting him so prominently. I'd reckon he'd probably want you to stop, as it boldens his image as a fanATIc, as well. 😉

Whats pretty ironic to me, is people point out to x-bit labs to point out positives about NV cards. Such as being quiet, yet this little blurb was left out:
Franking speaking, we don?t think the GeForce 7900 GT cooler is half as good as the GeForce 7900 GTX one. It is small and has a tiny fan, so it is rather noisy, yet not very efficient.

The 7900GT is louder than the 7900GTX. In fact, another site shows the 7900GTX is 44db, and the 7900GT is 50db. What is the X18/900's db rating? 50db. So if the X18/900's are "loud", then so are the 7900GT's. Cooler and less power for the 7900GT? Yeah. Quiet? No.

How about you stop insulting people? That sure isnt helping, and its being hypocritical. Dont like the thread, dont click it. Seems simple enough to me.

The whole world is agaist joke and the company he pimps for

Hardocp, Techreport, Xbit, AT are all biased and only joke and the reviews he finds that support his views are unbiased.

I guess Rage3D must be NVIDIA biased to, because they are giving your post an even worse time that it's getting here.
