Hi! I have an Inno3D Tornado Geforce2 MX400 64MB video card w/ TV-out. Mobo: ECS K7S5A, CPU: Thunderbird 900 MHz. This config only scored 1200-1300 points in 3DMark 2001 default benchmark, although it's supposed to get over 3000, I guess. (O/S: Windows XP Pro, video driver: Detonator 21.83) FPSs are around 25, sometimes in the 10s. Anyways Winamp AVSs are also moving kinda slow at resolutions over 800x600. I tried a few things in the BIOS and all kinds of drivers but nothing helped. What might be the problem? Hardware or software?

Best 3DMark2001 score we ever got with GeForce 2 MX 400 was 2995 - on a P4@1.7GHz running i850 chipset with 512MB RDRAM no less! These cards are dogs... for about $20 more, go with the ATI Radeon 7500 with 64MB DDR. That will bump your benchmark score over 4000.

Teflon, I use the GeForce tweak utility. ( GeForce Tweak Utility)

If you get that and install it, and use "fast settings", it'll turn em off by default. However you can uncheck VSync and Anti-Aliasing via that program.

If all you are concerned with is 3D Mark 2001, try the detonator 23.11 drivers. They gave a very noticeable increase in the 3dMark 2001 scores on my systems with the GTS cards. I would suspect they might help your MX as well. Then try to run Unreal Tournament or Max Payne and see how they work. (I had issues with those games and the 23.11 drivers, in spite of their being Nvidia certified)

PS I got 1622 3dmarks with my PIII 744 and very slow Creative Geforce 2 MX card. Upgraded to the GTS and got 2581. You might consider picking up a geforce 2 GTS-V from newegg for $59 delivered. It will be much better than any MX and look at the price!
