I have a pair of rollerblades that are about 5 years old and I wanna get a new pair. What's the latest? Good brands, models, enthusiast forums? These would be for just casual skating, for exercise and female ogling.

Why not go to a store and look for yourself? This way you can try them on for feel.

I've heard K2 skates are really good....my brother likes them a lot. I'm looking for a new pair, too.....I think I'm gonna hit the skate shop this weekend maybe.

How much can I expect to spend on a pair? The last ones I got were from a clearance rack at Meijer....cheap as heck but they were my first ones and worked. I'm looking for something a little better, no stunt stuff, but something that will hold up, too.

depends on what you're using them for. Mission are my favs... of course, they're made for roller hockey.

I have a low-end Mission and I bought my wife a mid-level Tour...I think the Tour might be more comfortable.

The original Rollerblade brand no longer makes extreme skates, correct? The last pair I owned were the Tarmacs and the Lightning TRS skates.

OMG Rollerblade Lightings were the best blades ever!
I have new blades now, but everything feels so bulky these days compared to the Lighting. They were perfect!

i wouldn' recommend the "mission" skates unless you're playing hockey in them. They're too hard for casual skating, but that's good for hockey.
i have a pair of salomon skates that i love. they're mainly known for ski boots but they're skates are really comfortable. think i threw down about $150 for them 3 years ago.

actually mine are salomon's too, I really like them. skates.com seems to be a good resource at least for checking current prices.
