It's at MicroCenter, the sku is 189910

It's siler with gray buttons. there's a toatal of 4 buttons, two normal ones and one on each side.

I'm going to get mine now.

argh - it's nice if this is the actual price. it's my opinion that microcenter has become the king of "bait-and-switch" - their excuse is always that they have the wrong sku # in the ad. (somehow, they mess up the description, as well.)

for instance, try to pick up the PCMCIA 10/100 ethernet card that they have in their latest ad for $9.99. Although the description clearly describes it as a PC Card, it is supposed to be an internal nic for your desktop.

just an fyi.

i actually posted this deal a few days ago so i know it's good. it's the same mouse that belkin and kensington slap their names on, pretty generic. has 5 buttons too.
it's good for gaming if you don't play any FPS (first person shooters). quick jerking of the mouse tends to send it haywire for a second. gaming that doesnt require constant quick movement it should be good for.

First, I should say I've never used this mouse, and have no idea how good it is (or isn't.)

But to the idea that "optical is optical": Not true at all. Different mice scan the desktop at different resolutions/speeds. Microsoft's first optical mice were horrible. The Intellimouse Explorer, which I use now, is top-notch, and perfect in FPS games.

The price here is so low that I really don't think you can go too wrong. I'd say it's worth a shot. Just beware that you very well may get what you pay for.

Bought one a couple days ago. Works great. Would have felt silly if I had bought the $50 intelimouse I was looking at last week. Micro Center had a pile of these when I was there.

"Optical is optical"...

...and Revo is the same as generic Tijuana sweatshop sunglasses...

...and Sony Trinitron is the same as Cumetrix...

...and Leupold is the same as Tasco.

They're all optical. That is true.

I have this mouse, bought it elsewhere. It works great except if you use it with Netscape 6.0, the programable buttons won't work. It may look identical to the Kingston model but it isn't because their drivers won't work with it. Good luck.

Well, if it is much like the REAL Intellimouse Explorer, it is fine for FPS games. Truth is, anyone who is good at such games does not jerk the mouse a lot or have it set to low sensitivity. I personally use a IE and while it is not as sensitive as a Razor Boomslang, it is more reliable and smoother.

For $5 more, you can get a MS Wheelmouse Optical at Office Depot...or at least they are $20 at my local OD. I switched to the MS Optical from an Inland Optical I picked up at Frys ages ago...
